When is Summerfest?
Summerfest 2018 will be open Wednesday, June 27 - Sunday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 3 - Sunday, July 8 (Closed July 2) from Noon to Midnight.
What is the Exit & Re-entry Policy at Summerfest
Wristbands to leave and re-enter the festival are available at all gate areas from Noon until 6:30 pm daily. Re-entry wristbands will be valid for a single, same day re-entry until 7:00 pm. No re-entry wristbands will be issued after 6:30 pm and there are no re-entries after 7:00 pm.
Additionally, no wristbands for re-entry will be issued on Sunday, July 8, 2018.
What are the security policies at the gates during Summerfest?
In line with all other major venues and stadiums, all visitors and employees will enter the festival through metal detection and should be prepared to comply with other security screening requirements.
- All bags are subject to inspection prior to entering the Summerfest grounds. No backpacks or bags larger than 9x10x12 will be allowed on the grounds.
- Please leave any unnecessary articles secured within your vehicle or at home to expedite your entry into the park. Some items can be checked at the information booths for a small fee $2.00 (cash only). Items NOT ALLOWED at Summerfest CANNOT be checked in (see list below).
- Any illegal items, or weapons (knives, firearms, objects that could be used as weapons), etc., confiscated by security, will be handed over to local authorities.
- Summerfest is not responsible for fire, theft, damage or loss of vehicle including articles left within.
What can I carry-in?
The following items are ALLOWED at Summerfest:
- Umbrellas (Note: Umbrellas are not allowed inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater)
- Strollers (Note: Strollers are not allowed inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater)
- Disposable Camera
- Small Camera (No Professional Grade Cameras and Video Equipment)
- Small Bag or Purse
- Drawstring backpacks are allowed
The following items are NOT ALLOWED at Summerfest :
- Large Bags over 9X10X12 inches
- Camelback style hydration packs
- Picnic Baskets
- Outside food and beverages
- Cans or glass bottles
- Aerosol cans
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Weapons or objects that could be used as weapons
- Professional grade cameras or video equipment
- Recording devices
- Pets (except service animals)
- “Selfie sticks”
- Banners or flags on poles
- Laser pointers
- Lawn chairs
- Skateboards or skates
- Stadium seats
- Other carry-ins as determined by management
The following additional items are NOT PERMITTED in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater:

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. d/b/a Summerfest reserves the right to alter carry-in item policies at any time.
Is there a place I can put my umbrella, purchases, etc.?
Yes, please visit one of the Information Booths located near each gate for more information on checking in items. There is a small fee of $2 (cash only) to check each item.
What do I get with a Summerfest ticket?
A Summerfest General Admission ticket/ Multiday passes are valid any time the grounds are open (Noon - Midnight) and permits access to all grounds stages, but are not valid for admission to American Family Insurance Amphitheater shows.
A Weekday Admission ticket is valid for entry before 4:00 pm, Tuesday - Friday and also permits access to all grounds stages and is not valid for admission to American Family Insurance Amphitheater shows.
A separate ticket is required for all American Family Insurance Amphitheater concerts; however, this ticket also includes access to Summerfest and grounds stages (only for the day of the show you bought a ticket for).
Where can I buy tickets?
Summerfest admission tickets are available online at the Summerfest Store as well as the Summerfest Box Office located near the South gate.
All reserved tickets for American Family Insurance Amphitheater can be purchased online at TicketMaster.com or at the Summerfest Box Office located near the South gate.
Summerfest strongly urges all patrons to avoid purchasing tickets on the street from unauthorized sources, as the tickets may be counterfeit. For your own protection, tickets should only be purchased at Summerfest ticket booths, online at the Summerfest Store or Ticketmaster.com. Counterfeit tickets and tickets purchased from unauthorized sources will not be honored.
What are the hours for the Summerfest Box Office?
The Box Office is open 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 10:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday. The Box Office is closed on Sundays and holidays unless there is an event or an on-sale that day. During Summerfest, the Box Office will be open until the amphitheater headliner takes the stage. The Will Call window will be open from 10:00am - 10:00pm.
Can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?
Yes, limited rentals are available at the North, Mid and South Gates with proper identification. $10.00 (cash only) for manual wheelchairs and $4.00 (cash only) for single strollers. Summerfest is not responsible for strollers or their contents left unattended on the grounds. Strollers are not allowed inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Guest(s) must be 18 years or older to rent.
Where can I stay overnight during my trip to Summerfest?
There are many hotels in the downtown Milwaukee area and many offer great Summerfest packages. For a list of partner hotels near the Summerfest grounds visit our Accommodations page.
Camping is not allowed on the Summerfest grounds or surrounding area.
There is no RV parking on the Summerfest grounds. For information on nearby RV parking please visit the Wisconsin State Fair RV park.

Designated Driver Booth
MillerCoors and Summerfest have teamed up to implement a Designated Driver Program. To register, please visit the Journal Communications Information Center near the Mid Gate. The Designated Driver must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers's license. Participants will receive a free weekday admission ticket when signing up for the program June 27th through July 5th. For those who sign up Friday, July 6th thru Sunday, July 8th, they will be given a hard ticket for 2019 weekday admission.
Is Summerfest accessible per ADA guidelines?
Summerfest complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is accessible, with exceptions for certain areas constructed prior to 1990. Can I bring my service animal with me?
Summerfest gladly welcomes service animals and service animals-in-training. If you are a service animal trainer, the animal must wear a harness or leash and special cape denoting that the animal is in training and not merely a pet. If you require the use of the animal to enjoy Summerfest, we strongly encourage the use of an identifying vest, harness, cape, or leash, so other Summerfest patrons do not attempt to pet or play with your service animal. Upon arrival, Summerfest staff may ask you if the animal is a service animal required because of a disability or if the animal is being trained to be a service animal. If the animal is a service animal-in-training, please be prepared to produce certification or other credentials from a school for training animals that the animal is in training currently. Summerfest will NEVER ask for certification or other credentials of a disability. Please note that Summerfest reserves the right to remove both animal and patron if the animal jeopardizes the safety of other Summerfest patrons, staff, or volunteers. Summerfest will NEVER separate or attempt to separate you from your service animal or service animal-in-training.

Where can I look for something I think I lost at Summerfest?
Lost and Found articles are turned into and can be claimed at the Lost and Found area located just south of the Harley-Davidson® Roadhouse.
If you are no longer at Summerfest, complete and submit a Lost and Found form.
Lost items will be held for 30 days and then donated to a local charity. Milwaukee World Festival, d/b/a Summerfest will not be held liable for any unclaimed items.
What if I get ill or injured while on the Summerfest grounds?
There are First Aid stations located at the North, Mid and South Gates. Ambulance service is provided by Bell Ambulance. Milwaukee Fire Department units are also present on the Summerfest grounds. See the Grounds Map for more details.
Are there facilities at Summerfest for Nursing Mothers?
There will be nursing pods located with the Children's area (noon - 9:00 pm) and at the South Gate Information Booth (noon - midnight). Nursing Mothers stations are being provided by Aurora Health Care and provide a comfortable, private and convenient space for moms to nurse their children.
What forms of payment are accepted at Summerfest.
The majority of vendors on the grounds accept credit cards. Additionally, ATMs are located throughout the Summerfest grounds and accept the following bank or credit cards: Plus, Star, MasterCard, Cirrus, Visa, Plus, American Express and Discover.
Free ATM transactions on the grounds through the entire 2017 festival season for BMO Harris Bank customers.
Sorry personal checks are not accepted.

How can I reserve an area for a private party for my company or organization?
Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance features a number of private party areas available for you to host a corporate outing, reunion, birthday party or annual event. These Private Party Areas are available all 11 days of the festival. They include full party set-up, tent, tables/chairs, bar, access to restrooms, a security guard and a place to display your event sign or corporate banner.
