MILWAUKEE (May 9, 2014) – Fans who wish to elevate their favorite bands, singer-songwriters and musicians to the finals in the 3rd annual Land the Big Gig® music competition may now begin voting at LandtheBigGig.com. Presented by Summerfest, TapMilwaukee, Robert Haack Diamonds and Noah’s Ark, with KNE (K-Nation Entertainment) providing the official Sponsorship of New Music, Land the Big Gig® offers a shot at stardom to three finalists who will perform live before thousands of Summerfest attendees and share in up to $100,000 in cash and prizes.
Voters have the chance to win, too. Everyone who votes for an artist on LandtheBigGig.com will be entered in a sweepstakes to win $2,000 cash.
Between April 10 and May 7, artists from around the United States nominated themselves for the competition by uploading a video performance of an original song to the Land the Big Gig® website. Beginning today through June 6 at 10:59 am CST, music fans can vote for an artist to become a finalist in the competition, and are allowed to vote up to five times per day.
The top three (3) vote-getters will be announced as finalists tentatively on Wednesday, June 11. Finalists will win a trip to Milwaukee to perform at Summerfest on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Stage on Thursday, June 26, and have a chance to win a share of up to $100,000 in cash and prizes; grand prize is $20,000, first prize is $5,000 and second prize is $2,500. In addition to the cash prizes, all three finalists will win recording time and songwriting and mentoring resources from KNE Studios, the opportunity to be featured on a KNE New Music Stage Compilation CD and the opportunity to each perform a 30-minute set at a Land the Big Gig® encore showcase at Summerfest on the KNE New Music Stage the day after the competition, Friday, June 27.

Last year, Land the Big Gig's nationwide reach resulted in artists representing the entire country submitting video entries to perform live at Summerfest and win the grand prize of $20,000 in cash. One finalist was an artist from the Milwaukee area, the two other finalists hailed from San Antonio, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee.
